Happy & Healthy Holidays - Week 3 - PRESENCE

Let’s focus on THE GIFT OF PRESENCE!

Do you ever find yourself somewhere and your mind starts wandering…thinking about ALL THE THINGS that you have to do? You may as well not even be there at all because you are a million miles away, obsessing about the future. Or the past. What a waste of a perfectly good moment in time. I do this ALL. THE. TIME…and I don’t like it. So it’s REALLY important for me to focus on being in the moment and mindful of what is happening in my life right now.

During the busy holiday season, it’s way too easy to be three steps ahead of ourselves and miss what’s going on around us. You’re not alone. It happens to ALL of us and it will continue to happen. But I have identified 4 tips and ideas to help you fully enjoy the Gift of Presence this holiday season. Here they are!

  1. When you’re going too fast or feeling overwhelmed: SLOW DOWN FOR 5 MINUTES AND BREATHE. Develop a quick and easy practice to calm your mind so you can be more present.

  2. In the season where we are used to giving presents with an ‘NTS’ try to give gifts with purpose. Creating memories by giving gifts of experiences are priceless!

  3. Start a new tradition or keep up with an existing one. Family baking days, game days, holiday decorating, etc are so special and a perfect way to be present for each other.

  4. Show up! Giving the gift of YOUR presence is one your family will treasure for years to come.

I go into a little more detail about my 4 tips in the video above. Just click the photo and you’ll be whisked away to the magical world of YouTube.

Take time this week to be present in your life. Smell all the good smells. Feel the cool air as you breathe it in. Stop to notice and greet people that you pass by. These are gifts that we shouldn’t take for granted.

Have a great week and be sure to join me for an Instagram Live on Monday at 12:00 Pacific so we can dive a little deeper into the gift of presence.
