Live Creatively®️ and Plan a Happy Life™️ — two tag lines that have shaped so much of my life since late 2015. ✨When I purchased my first Happy Planner®️, it was always about more than needing a planner. We had just moved back to my hometown after having our second baby and I didn’t have a single friend.
With two busy, active boys and a husband who travels often and works long hours, the Happy Planner® is the glue that holds this house together. From the monthly desk calendar that serves as our Family Battle Plan, to the weekly lists that help me get stuff done, the Happy Planner® has provided organization, function, and structure to our days. Most importantly, the Happy Planner® helps me keep the ME in Mommy.
I don’t even know where to begin to explain how much being on the squad has meant to me. I feel like I should wear one of those buttons that says “The Happy Planner™️ change my life, ask me how!” What started out as a tool to track my day has turned into something that has brought me such creative joy, true inspiration, and fantastic friendships I will have for life.
Some people say it’s just paper and stickers but it’s more that that for me. This may sound cliché but I feel like my planner has grown with me. I love looking back at my journey through my planners. From a stressed out nursing student, to starting my career and now starting a family. It’s so encouraging to look back at past planners and things I thought I could not accomplish but DID!
When I discovered The Happy Planner® a little over a year ago, I had no idea that a paper planner and stickers would quite literally change my life. I was in a very dark place, being a caregiver to my husband who had a terminal illness. I started planning as a way to keep track of all of his medical needs and my own personal to do lists. What happened was it opened up a whole entire world of creativity, friendship and new ventures for me.
Since The Happy Planner® entered my life, so many things have changed. As a full-time working mom of two active boys, it became difficult to fit things in for my own enjoyment. The Happy Planner® re-ignited my creativity in a way that still felt useful and productive. I was able to have some coveted "me time," while also working on being organized and planning ahead for the sake of my family. It truly is the perfect combination!
Being a member of The Happy Planner® SQUAD has been such a whirlwind and one of the most AMAZING things that has ever happened to me! It’s more than just getting all of the beautiful swag; I have been part of a brand that encourages women to be empowered and promotes HAPPY in all areas of our lives.

It probably sounds funny, but before The Happy Planner® I didn't really use a planner. Like at all. Consistently using a planner of any kind in the past would usually last all of two weeks before I'd get bored with dealing with it. When I decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in fashion design, the original four designs were released around the same time. It was kinda of like all of the stars aligning at just the right time. It probably sounds cliché, but The Happy Planner® and I were meant to be. I'm certain we're soul mates. =D
There are few moments in life, I think, where you just sit there and think, “I’ve seriously found my people! Where have you all been my entire life?!”
Remember those school issued planners? I was totally that kid in school that would take those boring pages in the front that outlined rules and academic guidelines and glued blank paper to them. Who needs to constantly see the dress code anyway, right? On those blank pages I’d letter fun quotes and draw doodles. I made my planner my own, even as far back as middle school. I like to say I can’t just write in a planner. It’s more to me than just to do lists and places I need to be. It’s my creative outlet. A place where I can put everything in my mind on paper among pretty stickers, colorful pens and an abundance of note pages and sticky notes.
Wow! What a whirlwind this year has been and I can’t believe it’s coming to an end! A year ago I decided to apply for this amazing SQUAD and I never thought in a million years I would be selected. What an amazing year it has been. I’ve met so many amazing people and am truly humbled by this whole experience. I truly feel more organized and like I’ve got a handle on my life because of this fantastic planner and community.
I can’t believe it’s been a year of #SquadGoals! This time in my life has been a blessing. The MAMBI team saw something special in me, in the way I plan. They gave me the opportunity to share my planning style with so many people. They allowed me to show that men and boys are welcomed in this community. They helped me gain confidence in the creative planning world. They helped this introvert be more outgoing!
The ladies that are in the squad are AMAZING! I love each one and consider them family. They welcomed me into their lives and have been a great support on this journey. Each one has a unique planning style that inspires me. I am grateful that the Squad has brought each of you into my life. I will always cherish the time we’ve had together.
Remember when Harry Potter found out he was a wizard and he walked into Diagon Alley for the first time? He saw SO MANY wizards and witches and it was overwhelming and amazing and he felt for the first time in his life like he BELONGED? These were HIS PEOPLE!
I never imagined 3 years go when I was first introduced to the Happy Planner while shopping for a new planner that it would change my life.
To my surprise it has done just that. At the time I was working as a Visual Merchandiser and Fashion Design assistant. Both jobs required a lot of creative energy and I was in desperate need of a fun and creative outlet.
I knew the moment I saw the Happy Planner® in January 2015 at Creativation [previously known as CHA], I was hooked. I'd been using a paper planner again for a little over a year but being able to customize and be creative with The Happy Planner® was totally for me.
I have experienced more growth this year as a squad member than any other adult year of my life. When I lost my mom, my Happy Planner® was there for my journaling. When my daughter started Kindergarten, my Happy Planner® was there in the form of the KIDS line for her. When friendships unraveled, my Happy Planner® was there for a creative distraction. When I started my coaching business, my Happy Planner® was there to help me track my own and my clients' progress. When my job duties shifted and I needed to raise nearly a quarter million dollars, my Happy Planner®was there to keep me organized and focused. This past year, I have spent more energy on the "Plan a Happy Life" ™philosophy, using my planner to accomplish tasks, goals, and enrich my ability to LIVE and CONNECT with the fact that we get one life. That is the gift that planning has given me.
The Happy Planner®️ is a big part of my life and has been for the last few years. My family has been through a bit of changes throughout these years including, autism diagnosis, buying a house, new jobs, therapy and adjusting to new schedules. Having a planner to write everything down and empty my brain of ALL THE THINGS has been so vital to keeping anxiety down not only with me but also my family. Happy mom, happy life! What helped even more was how positive and uplifting everything about The Happy Planner®️ is. From the dividers to the stickers to the little quotes at the bottom, I lived for those in the hard days.
I still remember the September day in 2015 when I purchased my very first The Happy Planner®. I was at a point in my life where I was so overwhelmed- I had a new job, a new husband, a new home in a new city, and life was basically complete chaos. I felt like I was barely staying above water. I needed something to help me get organized, and that’s when The Happy Planner® entered my life. It’s one of the moments in my life I think I will always remember, because my life was never the same after I made that purchase.
One of my close friends messaged me to let me know that The Happy Planner® would be debuting (July 2015) and she asked me to buy one and start this creative planning journey with her. Since I got my first smartphone in 2010, I had given up having a paper planner and was really hesitant to do this, but I decided to give it a go. The original Every Day is a Gift was my first Happy Planner® and I fell in love with it!
The time has come to put together our 2018-2019 Happy Planner® SQUAD! Yep, we’ve changed the name, and we are changing a few things up. We want YOU to be a part of all the HAPPY! Talk about #SQUADgoals!
The Happy Planner® is looking for ‘Happy Planner® enthusiasts who LIVE and BREATHE all things HAPPY + PLANNING. The Happy Planner® is more than just a product, it represents a community striving to Plan a Happy Life™.
I don't know about you, but The Happy Memory Keeping® system is my JAM! I love everything about it. My Happy Memory Keeping® planner has become a space for me to find gratitude. I find so much JOY in planning + keeping my memories.
Once I have finished memory keeping a month, I always find myself overwhelmed with thankfulness. I regularly look back and think the same thing, "WOW! I did all of THAT?!" It's an awesome feeling.
This positive reaction I frequently experience reminds me of a saying, a sticker that lives on the back of my computer which says, "Gratitude turns everything you have into enough."
I am a Happy Planner, not just because I own one, but rather the fact that I've been working in one for the past three years, and it has made me, literally, a HAPPY planner.
I love the dual meaning of this product! I love that when you intentionally invest time into it, you become the title!
One of the ways you can become a HAPPY planner is by, 1. (For the sake of this blog post) OWNING a Happy Planner®️ - derrrrr. ;) And 2. By taking The Happy Planner®️ and making it your own! The possibilities are truly endless with this system. You just gotta try and think outside the box a bit.
Spring is just a few days away! It may, or may not look like it outside of your window. Regardless, it’s ALMOST Spring!
You see, it’s not because I love Spring so much that I'm super excited about this seasonal shift, but rather the fact that it’s a NEW season, a NEW chapter. We have these AWESOME built-in reminders, reminding us of 'new beginnings', a bit of permission to hit that RESET button. It’s also pretty stinkin' cool that nature also sees the need to change. Nature hits RESET as well. We should probably take note.
It's almost SPRING. YAY! I love Spring. It's not too cold and it's not too hot!
I wanted to take advantage of this NEW season to do a little SPRING CLEANING from the INSIDE - OUT. It's my hope that this simple 7 DAY Challenge will give both me and YOU the opportunity to LET GO of the things in our life that no longer serve us. It might be physical, emotional, or mental. Whatever it is, if it's not serving you, LET IT GO.
Spring Cleaning... It's totally a THING. Each year I grow less organized, and less clean. I am not proud of this. Each year things get a little more crazy, a little more busy. And when all is said and done, I'm left with a mess. Don't get me wrong, I WANT to clean, I WANT to get organized... I even want to go to the extreme to de-clutter and get rid of EVERYTHING. LOL. But don't worry, I'm not going to toss everything in the trash. I literally can't afford that!
HOW you begin your day DETERMINES the direction of your day. Well, for the most part. This isn’t completely black and white, there is some grey area of course.
I have definitely been experimenting with routine. How to build a routine, what works and what doesn’t work. It’s so easy to become overwhelmed with all the to-do’s, the plans, work life vs. personal life, and so on.
Wanna know what the BIGGEST kill-joy is?! Comparison. BOY, OH BOY. Do I wish I could take comparison by the pigtails and toss it out out of this world (you know that scene in Matilda with Miss Trunchbull? The little girl with the pigtails? Anyways, watch the movie if you don’t know what I’m talking about!)
